The operating principle of the eddy current dynamometer is based on eddy currents (Fleming's right-hand rule). The structure of the eddy current brake consists of a notched disc (rotor) driven by a prime mover (such as an engine), with magnetic poles (stator) arranged around its outer circumference, leaving a gap. Coils that excite these magnetic poles are wound in the circumferential direction.
